Fleet Broadband & Iridium
Fleet Broadband and Iridium offer super-reliable, always available communications for any size of vessel. Both operate in the L-band so unlike Ku band VSAT, are immune from rain-fade. They have the advantage of global or near global coverage with very compact, lightweight terminals.
We often supply Iridium and Fleet Broadband as secondary systems with VSAT as primary. However they also make excellent primary satellite communications systems on smaller vessels. Choice of system usually comes down to space and weight requirements and are of operation, with Iridium feature full global coverage.
