VSAT Airtime For Visiting Superyachts
ACUTEC has announced the launch of a new range of VSAT airtime products for visiting superyachts. The service allows yachts which are accustomed to fast, low-cost marine VSAT satellite access to connect during their stay in Australia and New Zealand waters.
The service compliments ACUTEC’s existing support of Sea Tel products. As well as satellite airtime, arranging connection can sometimes involve modem supply, system configuration and supply of a suitable LNB. This can all be accomplished in one visit by an ACUTEC technician. Alternatively, for customers who have their own Telenor or Wavecall iDirect modem and LNB, set to work is usually as simple as the loading of a configuration file and re-pointing the antenna.
Plans with speeds from 256kb/s up to 1.5Mb/s are available for yachts equipped with a 1.0m Sea Tel 4003 or 4006. The iDirect service provides an efficient and fast link to the internet. Owners, charterers and crew can access all their usual internet applications including streaming media, VPN, VoIP and Skype.
